Multi-Day Wilderness Rafting Trip
The Gates of Lodore Dinosaur National Monument

Disabled Whitewater Rafting

Adaptive Adventures: Disabled Sports Rocky Mountain Rafting Program will again be running our annual 4-day rafting trip from May 29 - June 1, 2009. We will again be traveling through the scenic Gates of Ladore area.

The Green River cascades through the Gates of Lodore and surges beneath giant remote canyons revealing majestic towering cliff walls resplendent with pinon pines, green junipers, fresh water creeks and dozens of hiking side trails.

A highlight each night will be camping along the river and hearty meals and fun by the campfire. Our core group of leaders and guides (all volunteers) all have extensive river experience, many with up to 25 years in whitewater.

We’ve added one day to this year’s trip shortening river miles per day and offering more time to explore the campsites and grottos along the river. We’ll challenge the Green River’s rapids like Upper and Lower Disaster Falls, and most surely listen to campfire stories of the early season high water through Hell’s Half Mile. Similar trips by commercial outfitters are costing $500 to $700 and we can offer this experience through Adaptive Adventures for only $200!

Group size: 25 persons of which approximately one-third must be physically disabled.

Where: Yampa and Green rivers in Dinosaur National Monument.

Travel: Departing Denver on May 28th we’ll arrive at the Gates of Lodore then proceed 9 miles down river each day ending with a Jones Hole departure for the last day’s 15 mile rapids thrill ride through Dinosaur National Monument.
