The
Adaptive Adventures "Broad Reach" Adaptive Sailing
Program mission is to provide  the
environment, instruction, and support for individuals with
special needs to experience the thrills of sailing. With our
new Chicago location and several donated boats, we will offer
an expanded boating schedule in 2007. Contact Us for group
dates and individual reservations.
We
also provide information resources on adaptive sailing programs
around the country. If you recently had an injury, or would
just like to get into the sport of sailing for the first time
and you are concerned that your disability might limit your
sailing ability, this is the area for you. If we cannot help
you directly, we can put you in touch with the program nearest
to you that will meet your individual goals.
We
cater to individuals with a wide range of disabilities and
sailing experience. The program will encourage development
of integrated recreational sailing and use of the appropriate
adaptive technology. We believe in programs that primarily
focus on three areas: instruction, rehabilitation, and competitive
racing tactics.
Sailing
is a metaphor for the celebration of life.
